Police have revealed that the weapon used in the shooting at a flat on Green Dragon Lane was a machine gun.

The man who was killed has been named as Dean Tully aged 37. The cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds. Another remains in hospital in a serious condition after the attack on the 25th January. Both men were in their mid-30s.

Police are exploring all lines of inquiry including the possibility that those who either reside at or visit that address may have been targeted. They continue to keep an open mind about motive.

They know there were a number of people at the address - which is located on the first floor of the block - at the time of the shooting and would urge them to come forward. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Superintendent Simon Phipps of Hounslow borough said, 'This is a shocking and isolated incident on Hounslow borough. While the investigating team are progressing the investigation we have been working closely with the local authority and our partner agencies to try and reassure the community.'
