Dorset-based brewer Hall and Woodhouse plans waterside venue
November 19, 2025 A new riverside venue from Dorset brewer and pub operator Hall & Woodhouse is planned for Workhouse Dock in the Brentford Project. It would be situated in the unit at the top of the steps where people viewed the open-air cinema during the summer months. Designs have been submitted to Hounslow Council for a fit -out for a bar, caf é and restaurant under the Dockhouse name, with proposals for cream awnings, restrained signage, external seating defined by weighted planters and removable furniture, and external lighting to match the wider Brentford Project tenant guidelines. Hall & Woodhouse is a family -owned brewery and pub group founded in 1777 that operates a network of managed pubs and inns across the south of England many of which are food-led, alongside its Badger ales and other house brands. The company has in recent years adopted a cautious, phased approach to reopening and investment in its managed estate. Documents submitted with the application state that the venue will use temporary, collapsible furniture to enable external areas to be cleared during events. The planning documents suggest that, if approved and once the tenant fit-out is complete, The Dockhouse will operate as a daytime café and evening bar/restaurant with outdoor seating. Hall and Woodhouse told us it would be sharing more details about the new venue in due course.
