Breached restrictions in place for Trump visit
September 19, 2025 A 37-year-old man from Brentford, London has been arrested at Windsor Great Park for flying a drone in violation of a temporary airspace restriction order. The incident occurred during heightened security measures linked to the state visit of U.S. President Donald Trump and is being investigated under aviation legislation. The arrest was a result of airspace restrictions in place between 16–18 September over Windsor and surrounding areas. The order, issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), applied to all aircraft, including drones, and was designed to safeguard the airspace during the visit. Thames Valley Police have reiterated that any breaches of these restrictions will be dealt with robustly. Additional airspace controls were also announced over Chequers, where further events related to the state visit took place in the following days. Anyone observing suspicious activity in the air or on the ground is advised to report it by calling 101 or speaking directly to a uniformed officer. In emergencies, the public should dial 999.
