Dara Omar believed to have been trying to break up fight when killed
June 27, 2025 A 22-year-old man from Brentford has been named as the victim of a fatal stabbing that took place earlier this week. Eye-witnesses report that Dara Omar came out of the Menara Lounge, a Middle Eastern restaurant next to the Hounslow Muslim Centre when he witnessed an altercation at around 2:20pm on Monday 23 June. He was attempting to mediate between two groups on Hanworth Road near the junction with School Road when he was injured with a knife. The emergency services were called and he was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital but died later of his wounds. His next of kin have been informed. Although the fight took place outside the centre and the restaurant, there is nothing to indicate at this stage there was any connection between either and the two groups involved in the dispute. A spokesperson for the Hounslow Muslim Centre said the police had asked it to close after the attacked and thanked the emergency services for their swift response.
