This Saturday (10 October) is World Mental Health Day and to mark the occasion in Brentford a local café is giving out free colouring books to encourage children and adults to take up colouring to promote mindfulness and wellbeing.

Locals are invited to drop by the bakery Rye by the Water on Catherine Wheel Road between 10am and 4pm to pick-up a colouring book and crayons with your coffee, fresh bread and pastries, and get creative on this global awareness day.

The Brentford Project colouring book has some of the town’s best-loved local landmarks, monuments and points of interest, such as Johnson’s Island, Brentford Lock and The Butts as well as Kew Gardens and Syon House.

As part of the initiative, The Brentford Project is also running a competition to win a brunch for two at Rye by the Water, with the prize awarded to the most creative drawing.

Participants should share their drawings on Instagram and tag @ballymore using the hashtag #TheBrentfordProject by Saturday 31st October for the chance to win.
