Hounslow Council’s free Summer Fun Day will return for its third year on Wednesday 29 July, offering families in Isleworth and across the borough an afternoon of inclusive outdoor activities at Old Isleworthians Sports Club. Running from 12pm to 4pm, the Best Start Summer Fun Day has quickly become a popular fixture in the local calendar, bringing residents together for a lively mix of entertainment, play and community support.

This year’s event promises a wide range of attractions, from a bouncy castle and baby sensory play to a petting zoo, music and dance sessions, multi‑sports and rock wall climbing. All activities are free, and the day is designed to be fully accessible, with a quiet zone and a dedicated activity area for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Staff from the SEND Local Offer Team, SENDIASS and the Best Start in Life programme will be present throughout the afternoon to offer guidance and connect families with support services available across Hounslow. Residents will also be able to explore stalls providing information on local resources and family support.

Councillor Medeeha Asim, Cabinet Member for Children and Young Futures, said the Fun Day reflects the borough’s commitment to helping families thrive. She described it as a chance for families to enjoy time outdoors, discover new activities and learn more about the Council’s Best Start in Life plan, which aims to join up services so that families receive help at the earliest opportunity. She warmly encouraged residents to attend, emphasising the value of community events in supporting children and families across Hounslow.

The day will begin with a ‘Relaxed Hour’ from 12pm to 1pm, offering a calmer environment for anyone who would benefit from a less noisy start. Families can simply turn up, but those wishing to avoid queues can sign up in advance via Eventbrite. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/best-start-in-life-family-hub-fun-day-tickets-1992905031597?

In the lead‑up to the Fun Day, the borough’s Family Hubs will host an information drop‑in session on Wednesday 22 July, giving families and services the chance to meet, share information and learn more about the support available throughout Hounslow.
