The Brentford and Syon Area Forum will convene on Monday 15 September at 7:30pm at Brentford Free Church, Boston Manor Road. The meeting will bring together ward councillors, council officers, and members of the public to discuss local developments, infrastructure concerns, and neighbourhood initiatives.

The agenda includes updates on planning and regeneration, with a focus on Brentford’s ongoing development and the Golden Mile Strategy. Outcomes from previous community consultations are expected to be reviewed, providing context for future planning decisions.

Transport and infrastructure will also be discussed, particularly in relation to connectivity challenges around Brentford Station, Gillette Corner, Syon Park, and nearby estates. The forum will highlight upcoming improvements aimed at addressing public transport gaps and enhancing travel links across the area.

Economic development is another key item, with councillors set to explore strategies for economic inclusion and the relationship between regeneration and access to employment and training opportunities.

The Area Forum Action Plan will be presented by the Chair and ward councillors, offering updates on local initiatives, improvements to public spaces and services, and upcoming community events. Residents will have the opportunity to raise concerns and suggest solutions to neighbourhood challenges.

An Open Forum segment will allow members of the public to address the meeting on general issues, although individual cases will not be discussed. Residents are encouraged to submit questions or topic suggestions in advance by contacting the committee clerk, William Lee, at william.lee@hounslow.gov.uk.

The meeting will also introduce the council’s “Let’s Talk” platform, which enables residents to provide feedback online via QR code or printed forms. Minutes from the previous meeting held on 14 July will be reviewed, and any urgent business accepted by the Chair will be considered.

While the meeting will not be broadcast live, a recording will be made available on the council’s YouTube channel in the days following the event. Members of the public may record or report on the meeting, subject to the council’s protocol, which asks attendees to avoid filming individuals who are not participating.

The next scheduled Area Forum meeting is set for 31 January 2026.

Area Forums have become an important part of the way that Hounslow Council tries to engage with residents. The forums are held across the borough, split up by electoral ward.

There is no registration for these events – just come along on the evening.
