Two men from the local area were arrested this Friday (20 June) after an altercation broke out outside the Iranian Embassy in South Kensington.

50-year-old Esmaeil Balouchy, of Brent Lea, Brentford and 31-year-old Aref Yazdan Parast of Worton Road, Isleworth are both Iranian nationals believed to be opponents of the regime in Tehran.

The police were called to Prince’s Gate at 9:54am to find a fight in progress which they intervened to break up.

Two men, aged 37 and 39, had to be taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. One of them is believed to have been a supporter of the Islamic Republic. The other was arrested but not charged and has been bailed.

Balouchy and Parast were changed with causing grievous bodily harm with intent along with five other Iranians based in the UK. They have been remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on this Monday (23 June).
