Charlotte House, a 56-bed residential care home in Isleworth, has been awarded the prestigious Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Quality Hallmark Award for its excellence in palliative and end-of-life care—making it the first care home in the London Borough of Hounslow to receive this national recognition.

Located between West Middlesex University Hospital and Syon Park, Charlotte House is operated by Care UK and provides specialist nursing, dementia, and respite care in a modern, purpose-built facility. The home’s achievement reflects years of dedicated work under the leadership of manager Carmen Surligeanu, whose team has embedded compassionate, person-centred care into every aspect of their service.

The Gold Standards Framework, now in its 25th year, is a nationally recognised benchmark endorsed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). It supports care providers in delivering high-quality, coordinated care for people nearing the end of life. Accreditation is awarded following a rigorous assessment process and is valid for three years.

Charlotte House’s GSF accreditation was announced at the 2025 GSF Annual Conference, held at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham, where over 170 organisations across health and social care were honoured for their commitment to best practice in end-of-life care.

Charlotte House’s approach includes close collaboration with residents and families to develop tailored care plans, a focus on emotional and spiritual wellbeing, and ongoing staff training in palliative care principles. The home also features a welcoming environment with landscaped gardens, communal lounges, and a strong emphasis on community engagement.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

We’ve always done that and won’t be changing, in fact we’d like to do more.

However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.

If neither of these amounts is suitable for you then contact info@neighbournet.com and we can set up an alternative. All payments are made through a secure web site.

One-off donations are also appreciated. Choose The Amount You Wish To Contribute.
