Changes to rush hour train services announced by SWT

More trains to serve Brentford station in morning peak

Rush hour train commuters from Brentford will see an improvement in services from December.

The new timetable will see four trains an hour throughout the day on the Hounslow loop line throughout the day. The present service provides only five trains between 7am and 9am. This will rise to eight trains when the new timetable commences this winter.

Whilst being good news for rush hour users, the changes will see an end to the semi-fast services that call at Brentford. These will be replaced by trains stopping at all stations on the way to Waterloo, increasing journey times by around 10 minutes.

Services through the evening rush hour will also provide for four trains an hour on the Hounslow line, stopping at all stations - a similar service will operate on Saturdays. However, Sunday will continue to see just one train an hour for the foreseeable future.
