Hounslow Council have decided to scrap plans for a new controlled parking zone around the Brentford Dock area after a consultation showed strong opposition from residents.

Augustus Close, Brentford

595 properties were consulted and responses were received from around a third. Nearly 80% of residents of the adopted roads on Augustus Close and Justin Close said they were against a CPZ. The consultation also showed that, if a CPZ was to be introduced, residents would prefer a standalone scheme, operation Monday to Friday with shorter operational hours.

Comments received from residents included the view that there was no parking problem and that the scheme should not be confined to the adopted roads in the area.

As a result of the consultation a delegated decision was taken to abandon the plan.
