A serial shoplifter from Brentford, who has been jailed previously for theft, has received a 26-week prison sentence.

35-year-old Rasa Truncate of Carville Road appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on Friday 10 February charged with 11 offences having been arrested the previous day.

She offered no comment when interviewed under caution but pleaded guilty on all counts after police gathered CCTV evidence of her taking approximately £1900 worth of goods from shops on Hounslow High Street

She had operated in the area before and the police first became aware of her presence when the local neighbourhood policing team spotted there had been an unusual rise in shoplifting.

PC Dan Cheeseman, Dedicated Ward Officer for Hounslow Central said, “Following previously dealing with Rasa Truncate and using our local knowledge we managed to identify her as causing significant loss to the store. She showed no regard for the loss to the shop and hopefully by going to prison she will get the help that she needs”.
