A significant number of armed police officers were involved in an operation on Brentford High Street this Thursday afternoon (27 October).

At least three marked vehicles were at the scene just outside the Sauki pan-Asia restaurant and a number of plain clothes and armed officers were involved in the detention of a man shortly before 5.30pm.

There are unconfirmed reports that the man was on a bike before he was detained.

The police were only prepared to say that the officers were in the area to arrest a man who was wanted on suspicion of firearms offences.
