Mystery surrounds a property in Epworth Road, Isleworth where police have been excavating in the garden for the last few days.

It is believed that they are searching for human remains that may have been buried there in the 1980s.

Metropolitan Police Officers began excavating the Epworth Road site on Tuesday (March 24).

A police spokesman has said that a man and a woman, aged in their 90s and 80s respectively, have been interviewed under caution. According to the spokesman, the investigation is not linked to the house’s current occupier.

The investigation is being led by DCI Noel McHugh, from the Metropolitan Police’s Homicide and Major Crime Command unit. Thus far, the excavation has not been linked to any other operation by the force, and police have said that the identity of the victim, if indeed there is one, remains unknown as yet.
