For the last year a team of enthusiasts has been trying to rescue the Commerce Road site west of the Grand Union Canal basin from a massive development.

The Council refused permission for British Waterways to build 992 flats, parking for 800+ cars plus offices and restaurants on the site between Commerce Road and the water.

The proposed scheme would rise to 15 storeys. It would overlook the Syon Estate and change the character of the canal although it is supposed to be protected in a conservation area.

The Brentford Community Council backed the refusal and has been helping to defend this view at this endless inquiry. They are urging people to come and show their support on the final day.

MAY 21 at 10 AM onwards at THE JURY INN HOTEL, 5 minutes walk from HATTON CROSS STATION.
