Upcoming AGM open to all members of public

West London Mental Health NHS Trust will be holding its annual general meeting (AGM) later this month, outlining how improvements have been made to mental health services for patients across Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow. 

The meeting, which is planned to take place at the Imperial College in Hammersmith on 18 September 2014 between 12 and 3pm, is open to all members of the public.  It will give delegates an opportunity to hear about the trust’s achievements during 2013-14 and its plans for the year ahead, together with the formal presentation of the annual report and accounts for this period.  After the presentations, the trust’s board will be available to answer any questions.  There will be information stalls with representatives from clinical departments and an opportunity to meet the trust’s directors and senior management. 

Steve Shrubb, Chief Executive of West London Mental Health NHS Trust, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming local people to our AGM, sharing details of our successes during 2013/14 and our plans for the coming year which seek to address some of our anticipated challenges.  While we have much to be pleased with, our achievements were as a result of the hard work and dedication of our teams of staff, working tirelessly for our patients against a backdrop of challenging financial times.” 

Some of the notable achievements over the past year include:

• starting a multi-million pound redevelopment programme at St Bernard’s in Ealing and Broadmoor Hospital;

• launching a pilot service where clinicians assess people for mental health problems in police stations;
• opening refurbished wards in the Wolsey Wing at St Bernard’s;
• the opening of a new community shop and picture framing studio on the high street in West Ealing in conjunction with Accession;
• piloting on line technology to improve access to talking therapies with Big White Wall in Hounslow;

• moving our research and development base to a purpose built accommodation at Lakeside in Hounslow.
