Squad cars to speed up response time
Hounslow’s estate police officers (EPOs) will be able to respond faster to residents’ concerns now that they have a squad car for the first time. The unit was formed last year to keep the borough’s estates safe and is joint funded by Hounslow Council and the Mayor of London. The EPOs' work is informed by a group of tenant representatives and the council who identify objectives and priorities for the team. Hounslow Council Leader, Cllr Steve Curran, said: “The estate police officers have been successful in making our streets safer, and this new car will help make them even more efficient.” The unit has already delivered significant success in reducing crime, including:
