Dog owners who fail to pick up their pet’s faeces could be landed with an £80 on-the-spot fine as new controls come into effect today (Monday, 19 August). Dog owners will also be required to put their dog on a lead when asked and the number of dogs that can be walked by any one person at a time is limited to four. "I want to make it absolutely clear that the vast majority of dog lovers have nothing to fear.
