SW Trains Warns Passengers To 'Check Before You Travel' | |||
Network Rail plans works during the May Day Bank Holiday weekend
The two-day project will see the complete replacement of a section of track on the most congested section of the railway, aiming to improve reliability for passengers right across the South West Trains network. As a result of the scale of the work, there will be significantly fewer services in and out of London on Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th May. The SWT Network Rail Alliance say:" We operate one of the busiest railways in Europe, with over half a million passengers every day. This work is part of our major investment to improve the reliability of our railway and provide better journeys for our passengers. "We have scheduled the improvements for the Bank Holiday to try and minimise disruption as much as possible. Passenger numbers are significantly lower than they are during the normal working week, however, some disruption is unavoidable while we carry out the work. We will have staff available at stations to help passengers and trains will run with extra carriages where possible. It is extremely important that passengers check their journey before travelling and leave extra time if possible."As a result of the Waterloo track replacement works there will be significant changes to services, including:
