TW8 price record smashed again by Kew Bridge House flat

The spring and summer months have seen Brentford property prices hit new highs with sales of luxury units in the Kew Bridge area setting new price records.
One apartment became Brentford's most expensive, selling for £2,392,612.
Although initially sales of luxury riverside apartments had driven up the average price in the TW8 post code area more recently there has been a renewed interest in houses in Brentford.
Most homes sold in the area are still flats, but sales of houses have risen sharply and made up nearly a third of sales, one of the highest levels in recent years. There was the sale of a detached house in Market Place for £1,000,000. This is the first time a house in TW8 outside the Butts has sold for a seven figure sum.
Ray Upcraft, partner at Russell Collins estate agents says, "Brentford has become increasingly popular over the past few months. It initially started with the new builds but the classic Victorian terraces are now reaping the rewards too.
"Many Brentford people are looking to stay local and the overflow from Chiswick/Ealing/Richmond etc has never been more prevalent. The main line station, M4 and the fact many big businesses have arrived in Brentford only helps to maintain the current popular status of the TW8 area."
Top Twenty Brentford Property Sales
The July data from Land Registry's House Price Index shows an annual price increase of 6.3% in London taking the average property value up to £385,799. Nationally the average in England and Wales rose by 0.8% to £164,098 Repossession volumes decreased by 23 per cent in May 2013 to 1,365 compared with 1,765 in May 2012.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during May 2013, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales increased by 19% to 62,651 compared with 52,516 in May 2012. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in May 2013 increased by 28% to 740 from 576 in May 2012.
