Property in the Butts becomes TW8's second most expensive

The average price of a property sold in Brentford in the second half of 2012 has averaged over £400,000. If this level is sustained it will mean that home prices in the area have reached new highs surpassing the record level set in the second quarter of this year.
The average price earlier in the year was boosted by sales of high priced units in the Kew Bridge development but this has not been a factor in more recent months with sales in that development slowing rapidly.
A combination of few sales in the cheaper new developments in the area and greater activity at the top end of the market has helped boost the prices levels seen. The two most expensive properties sold in the second half of this year so far have been in the Butts, one of which became the second most expensive property ever sold in the TW8 post code area, changing hands for £1,250,000.
Top Twenty Brentford Property Sales
The August data from Land Registry's flagship House Price Index shows prices unchanged leaving the average property value in England and Wales to £163,376.
London remains the best performing area in the country with prices rising by 5.0% to £ 364,059 over the same period although prices were slightly down on the previous month.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during June 2012, the number of completed house sales in England and Wales decreased by 3 per cent to 56,077 compared with 57,702 in June 2011.
The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in June 2012 increased by 35 per cent to 647 from 478 in June 2011.
The numbers below are subject to revision as is it usual that some properties are added late to the Land Registry's database.
