Playworker Required for Brentford Toy Library |
|||||
Temporary Funding secured but only for sessions at St Paul's
We are very pleased to announce that the play sessions at St. Paul's Parish Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am - 12 noon will resume in January.
Sadly however the play sessions at Mission Hall and Claypond's Community Centre will be closing permanently and will not reopen in January.
We have thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone at these two centres and in particular would like to thank Claypond's Estate Residents Association (C.E.R.A) for their continued support.
Of course this means that Brentford Toy Library will be changing and we will be unable to offer the same level of activities and community events. The Charity Shop will also be unable to open in the New Year. We are very sorry to see this go as we feel in this climate it has been a valuable resource for parents/carers and childminders alike in Brentford.
Long standing Brentford Toy Library manager Sally Malit will be resigning from her post due to the lack of funding. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Sally for her complete dedication; without Sally Brentford Toy Library would not exist today.
We now hope to employ an experienced and qualified Play worker to run the St. Paul's Sessions for 8 hours a week. There is money to cover the expense of this for 1 year, however since there will be no members of staff in post able to write funding applications, it is quite possible Brentford Toy Library will be in this same precarious funding situation this time next year.
