London Green invites you to view the proposals to move Watermans Arts Centre from its current location to a new position on the old police station in Half Acre (pictured above looking north from outside Goddards).

Flats will be built on both the old police station site and the current Watermans and Max Factor buildings as part of a project that will see approximately 300 flats being built across both sites.

The exhibition of the proposals takes place after half term:

On Wednesday 2nd November 4-8pm and Saturday 5th November 10:30-4pm
At Watermans Arts Centre.

A statement from Watermans reads "Watermans has been fully engaged in discussions regarding the size, location and spec of the new centre and we are excited about what the future could hold for the arts and creativity in West London.

"At the moment, we are at capacity in an aging building. The new building offers significantly more space, state-of-the-art facilities, and vastly improved public spaces to enable us to deliver an ambitious artistic programme and continue to carry out our mission of inspiring communities through creative practice.

"So we are supportive of the proposal to move to the new site, and are currently in discussion over the detailed spec of the building. When we are happy that the spec meets our requirements and those of our audiences, and pending planning permission, we expect to agree to the move.

"The time frame for this will be at least 2-3 years from now, and Watermans will continue full operation until such time as the new building is ready to move into. Please rest assured that Friends memberships and contractual agreements will NOT be affected at this time.

"Please do come and see what you think and share your thoughts with London Green".

Members of the project team will be available to answer your questions.
