Mary Macleod, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Brentford & Isleworth constituency, is backing campaigners who today were in the High Court on Tuesday claiming the Government’s case for a Third Runway at Heathrow is flawed.

‘The case for Heathrow expansion is flawed and will be detrimental for people in Chiswick, Brentford, Isleworth, Osterley and Hounslow. I fully support the coalition of campaigners in their efforts to stop this potentially disastrous policy which will damage the lives of thousands and hurt the environment,’ said Macleod.

Conservatives have been active supporters of the campaign along with local people and other organisations. The Conservative Party policy is to say no to a Third Runway.

Macleod continued: ‘At the election, I’d urge locals to remember that a vote for Labour is a vote for a Third Runway. If Labour gets back for a fourth term, it will be a disaster for local residents. We need a different solution which respects the needs of local people and the local environment, giving residents the quality of life they deserve.’

The High Court has been told that the public consultations were "conspicuously unfair" as a coalition of local councils, environmental groups and local residents go to the High Court.
