Friday 26th November - Polar Bear Theme
Once again Watermans will be hosting the annual event to mark the lighting up of the Brentford High Street on Friday 26 November from 6pm onwards. This is a great FREE event for all the family. Here at Watermans the celebrations will begin with children from The Green Dragon Primary School singing Christmas Carols Special guest appearances will be made by Bjorn the life size Polar Bear (as seen on Channel Four’s Paul O’ Grady’s Show’ last year) and his handler Ursula who will be at the ceremony to tell you all about life at the North Pole. Children from local schools have entered a competition to write a poem or draw picture about Polar bears and the Christmas Lights in Brentford High Street. Two winners and two runners up, one from each age category 3-5 years and 6-8 years will be announced on the night by local Brentford celebrity Andrew Dakers. The winners will win the chance to switch on the lights for the ceremony and a voucher for a family of four people to see the Watermans Christmas show The Little Red Hen by Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company. The runners up will win tickets to see the Christmas Show. Everyone is welcomed to join us for some mince pies and mulled wine (soft drinks for the children) and other delicious nibbles throughout the evening. 4pm Claire and Liz from Extended Services look forward to seeing you at the Christmas decoration workshop 6pm Parents, children, choir arrive. Bjorn walkabout starts. 6.30pm Competition winners announced. Lights ON!! 7pm Mingling and mulled wine, Bjorn walkabout continues, until everybody has left.....
