This year La Bohème and La Cenerentola being performed
April 29, 2026 Opera lovers and charity supporters alike can look forward to a memorable midsummer experience as Opera at Syon returns to the spectacular setting of Syon House this June. Held within the enchanting Great Conservatory at Syon Park, the event promises two elegant evenings combining world-class music, fine dining and fundraising in aid of Brain Research UK. Taking place on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 June , the long-running Opera at Syon—now in its fourth decade—has become a highlight of the summer social calendar. This year’s programme features two much-loved operatic masterpieces: La Bohème and La Cenerentola. Both will be performed by the acclaimed chamber company Diva Opera, accompanied on piano by distinguished musician Bryan Evans. Guests, dressed in black tie, will be welcomed with a Champagne and canapé reception in the gardens before taking their seats beneath the conservatory’s soaring glass dome for the opening act. The setting itself is a key part of the appeal: the Great Conservatory, filled with rare and exotic plants, provides a strikingly intimate and atmospheric backdrop for live opera. The interval offers a relaxed contrast, with a picnic-style dinner and wine served at tables nestled among the lush greenery. For those who prefer, there is also the option to dine alfresco on the surrounding lawns. The evening continues with a charity auction featuring a range of enticing prizes—from luxury stays in the Scottish Highlands and the Italian Alps to fine wine—before the performance reaches its conclusion. Guests can then unwind with tea and coffee in the nearby Cactus House. With just 150 tickets available for each night, the event maintains an exclusive and intimate feel. Tickets are priced at £200 per person, with proceeds supporting the vital work of Brain Research UK, which funds research into neurological conditions such as brain tumours, spinal cord injuries and chronic pain disorders. Blending culture, philanthropy and a unique setting, Opera at Syon offers a rare opportunity to experience outstanding live performance in one of west London’s most beautiful historic locations.
