The inaugural ISIS Challenge takes place this coming Saturday, 11th August 2012.

The ISIS Challenge consists of a 1km paddleboard time trial at Brentford Lock and a 5km run in the grounds of Syon Park.

This is the first event of its kind and Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has been busy organizing the course and additional attractions. We have planned the 5k course to take in the stunning architecture and gardens of Syon Park. To compliment the sporting events we are also hosting a FREE Family funday in the gardens of the Great Conservatory (Syon Park).

The funday is open to all and will include FREE activities such as short tennis, boccia, mini football, mini golf, boxercise, kwik cricket and paddle boarding/kayaking on the lake. We will also have a fun inflatables, a fully licensed bar, BBQ and a huge outdoor screen showing the penultimate day of London 2012. The funday takes place from 1pm to 5pm. Entrance is via the Conservatory Gate. Funday attendees do not need to register in advance.

The ISIS Challenge is still open for bookings in both the paddle boarding and run events – if you, your family or friends wish to take part then please visit:

Online bookings will close at 11pm on Thursday 9th August.

Do not fret! We realize that the majority of participants may never have stood on a paddleboard. We will be running free paddleboard practice sessions from 9.45 a.m to 10.45 a.m at Brentford Lock. Our coaches will be on hand to provide key tips and you will have the opportunity to try the board out before the race.

You will be provided with the correct equipment and some basic coaching. You will be surprised at how quickly you can cover the course- estimated completion time is 10-20 mins.

We will be taking registrations for the run only on the day however participants are advised to book online as we will be sending out event details via email prior to Saturday.

If you have any queries please email

Whether you are taking part, coming to support a family member or friend or just coming along to the Funday, we are sure that Saturday will be a great day out for all the family and one that will become an annual fixture on the Brentford calendar.

We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday
