Services of Remembrance are being held across Brentford and Isleworth this Sunday (9 November).

There will be a parade to Brentford Cenotaph assembling outside St. Paul’s Church at 10:30am and departing for the war memorial outside Brentford Library on Boston Manor Road at 10:40am. The parade will be led by 203 Brentford AFC and students from Isleworth & Syon School with Cllr Marina Sharma representing Hounslow Council. The service begins at 10:50am.

Schools in the area have also been invited to join the parade meeting either at Isleworth Green at 10:15am or Isleworth British Legion at 10:30am. Five minutes later they will then walk to the Isleworth War Memorial outside St Bridget's Church for service. Cllr John Stroud-Turp will represent the council.

Members of the public should go directly to the memorial.

On Saturday, 22 November at 11pm there will be a gathering at the Katyń Memorial, followed by a guided walk around Gunnersbury Cemetery and a visit to Gunnersbury Park Museum, highlighting the story of Poles in the UK and their contribution to British life.

South Western Railway (SWR) is once again offering serving military personnel and veterans attending any local Remembrance Sunday events on Sunday 9 November the opportunity to travel for free on all its services.

This site remains committed to providing local community news and public interest journalism.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.

We’ve always done that and won’t be changing, in fact we’d like to do more.

However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. Our financial resources are limited and the local media environment is intensely competitive so there is a constraint on what we can do.

One-off donations are also appreciated. Choose The Amount You Wish To Contribute.
