A new guided walk titled Goe no more to Brainford will take place in Brentford on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November, running from 11:25am to 5pm each day. The walk is the latest offering from Minimum Labyrinth, a long-running London-based group known for its eclectic and historically rich walking tours.

This marks the ninth walk developed by Minimum Labyrinth, which has been curating immersive experiences across London for over 20 years. The organisation blends literary, architectural, and social history with personal storytelling, often drawing on lesser-known narratives and overlooked corners of the city. The Brentford Walk is described by its creator as a personal journey, tracing the life of his grandfather—born in Brentford in 1889—and the family’s ties to traditional trades such as watermanship, basket-weaving, and gasworks.

The title of the walk is taken from a 1609 verse by Thomas Ravenscroft:

“Goe no more to Brainford vnlesse you loue a Punke, for that wicked sinnefull towne hath made me drunke, come follow me.”

This satirical rhyme reflects Brentford’s historical reputation as a place of both revelry and disrepute, themes that the walk will explore alongside its quieter riverside charm and industrial legacy.

Participants can expect a route that includes tranquil waterways, art deco architecture, historic pubs, and reflections on migration, labour, and urban change. The walk aims to offer a layered portrait of Brentford as a town shaped by transience and transformation—older than London itself, and at times more unruly.

Further details and booking information are available via the Minimum Labyrinth website.
