Try something new with kayaking, paddle boarding and Bogof Zumba on offer
Hounslow residents are invited to try out any of the seven local leisure centres for free this weekend 25 February – 26 February. There will be a raft of free activities including swimming, inflatables, paddle boarding and kayak trials in the pool, spinning, racket sport and a selection of free fitness classes, plus fitness challenges in the gym and givaways. Greg Nelson the Customer Relationship Manager at Isleworth Leisure Centre & Library said: “In the lead up to 2012 London Olympics we want to get the community involved in the sport and leisure options on their doorstep. There will be something special offered at our centre this weekend with a free trial in kayaking and paddle boarding. We hope we can dare you to try something different!” Kicking off the weekend will be Lampton Sport Centre Centre with Bogof Zumba first thing on Saturday morning. Ensure you bring comfortable clothing and a reliable partner. On Saturday and Sunday there will be free swimming and inflatables at Brentford Fountain, Isleworth Leisure Centre & Library, New Chiswick Pool and the famous pirate ship inflatable at Heston Pool. Among the free fitness classes is the new up and coming Bokwa dance fitness, the most up and coming dance fitness programme. Cllr Pritam Grewal, Hounslow’s cabinet member for leisure and wellbeing said: “The weekend offers and excellent opportunity to try out the leisure centres and the teams are keen to welcome newcomers and anyone who hasn’t visited in a while, and show them see the excellent gyms, pools and studio sessions we now have in Hounslow.” Full details of the weekend can be found at www.hounslow-leisure.co.uk or to book a class call 0845 456 6675.
