Brentford Market Place is to host a community celebration on, as part of the Mayor of London’s Community Weekend. The event, running this Sunday (14 September) from 11am to 3pm, will feature music, dance, food, and a wide range of local organisations offering residents opportunities to connect, volunteer, and learn more about community initiatives in the area.

Seventeen groups are expected to take part, representing sectors including education, heritage, wellbeing, arts, and civic engagement. Participating organisations include Brentford Chamber of Commerce, Brentford School for Girls, Brentford Voice, Creative Mile, Creative People and Places Hounslow, Foundation Wellbeing Trust, Heritage Harbour, Hounslow & District History Society, Human Driven AI, Jacqueline Douglas Design, Mulberry Centre, Musical Museum, Parish of St Paul’s, Polish Klan, Shewise Org, Speak Out in Hounslow, and Team Keane / Brentford Boat Club.

Live performances will include the Polish Klan dance troupe and the Speak Out in Hounslow Choir. Street food will be available from local vendors including Mr Roys, Gimmo Pizza Sandwiches, and Non Solo Gelato.

The event is part of a wider programme supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, the Mayor of London’s Community Weekend, and Hounslow Council’s Community Development Network. According to organisers, the day is intended to highlight the breadth of community-led work taking place across Brentford and to encourage greater public involvement in local projects.

Councillor Amy Croft, Mayor of Hounslow, is expected to attend.

Brentford Community Day is free to enter and open to all.
