Brent Lea Celebratory Picnic

"We can all play, picnic, stroll, cycle and walk our dogs as we have been able to since 1961."

The Save Our Rec campaign group have been instrumental in stopping Brent Lea Recreation Ground being used as temporary accommodation for Floreat Brentford's new primary school, due to open in a few weeks.

The group stuck posters up everywhere, knocked on front doors, attended meetings, canvassed councillors, explained their views to Floreat and raised public awareness.

As a result, Floreat are looking at Trico House in GWQ as an alternative and the council are no longer pursuing appropriation of the land.

Therefore, this Wednesday evening, everybody is invited to bring a picnic and an optional celebratory bottle and join in an informal celebration from 7pm.
