Controversial plans withdrawn at eleventh hour

Ferry Quays to reconsider designs

The most contentious items under discussion at the most recent meetitg of the Brentford and Isleworth Planning Committee were withdrawn before the start of the meeting.

Developers Rialto agreed to reconsider their plans for the remaining part of the Ferry Quays scheme. The plans had attracted controversy because of differences between the latest proposals and the original plans lodged at the start of the area's development.

Plans to redevelop Ealing Road were put on hold following representations from the local Griffin Park Residents Association. They successfully called for Ealing Road's layout to be considered as part of the wider traffic plan of the area.

Councillors were generally supportive of plans to build a 5 story Audi sales unit and office opposite Willis House, although they expressed concern over the liklihood of 24-hour working on the site.
