Police are appealing for information after a boat on the visitor's moorings at Brentford Lock was firebombed on Friday night.

Local residents reported seeing two men throw what is suspected to be a petrol bomb on to the GRP cruiser, which went up in flames and broke loose.

A nearby narrow boat also caught fire.

The cruiser drifted across to the marina where the fire brigade put the fire out.

One eyewitness spoke of seeing flames 20-30ft high

A police spokesman said:

"Two suspects were seen running away from the scene. Both are described as white males, aged from 16-25 years old." If anyone has any information, please contact Hounslow Police Station CID on 020 8247 6160 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
