Over 5,000 competitors from across the country raced at Nottingham event
May 22, 2025 44 Athletes from Brentford Boat Club entered their largest number of races at this year’s National Schools Regatta. This is the flagship event of the junior rowing season with over 5,200 competitors from the UK and Ireland at Holme Pierrepoint in Nottingham. Three days of rowing were shortened to 2 days owing to poor weather conditions, but this did not dampen the energies of the girls and boys from Brentford Boat Club whose performances were noticed by all present. The crews reached 8 finals and showed that they were very much in the mix with great performances: Brentford Boat Club Race Results J15 4+ Final A 5th (photo finish 4th/5th) Brentford Coach Nick Wilde commented ‘All the crews performed well and showed the results of all the hard work done by the athletes throughout the year. It is a strong basis to build on next year’. Club Chair Emily Wolski added ‘The squads are a force to be reckoned with. I can’t wait to see what the athletes in this new club do next!’ Brentford Boat Club is a new, community and volunteer-run charity club which welcomes new members from all levels, one of the few organisations and boat clubs providing access for local children and dedicated to helping them reach their full potential while also running a successful performance program.
