Motorists and residents in Brentford are advised to plan ahead as a series of roadworks and temporary closures are scheduled to take place across the area. The works, coordinated by Hounslow Council, TfL and utility providers, are deemed necessary to improve road surfaces, upgrade infrastructure, and carry out essential maintenance.

Castle Kelly Utilities, on behalf of UK Power Solutions, are digging up Brentford High Street (from outside the Montgomery Wharf Development to the junction of The Ham) between 25 October and 11 November. This is to install new high voltage electricity ducts and complete cable pulls and jointing works.

During this time, there will be portable traffic signals in place, that will be manually controlled throughout the day to manage traffic flow. Additionally, there will be closures at the junctions of Augustus Close and The Ham but resident and business access will be maintained throughout.

Catherine Wheel Road will be closed from 10pm to 5am from 5-7 November, The High Street will be closed by the Ham from 10pm to 5pm from 12-13 November and at the same times at Half Moon Close on 19-20 November.

UK Power Solutions said in a letter to residents, “Our prime objective is to ensure the works are carried out in a safe and efficient manner with every effort being made to keep disruption to a minimum. On completion, all trenches will be backfilled and reinstated to the required highways specification.”

There is addition work on the High Street for drainage and resurfacing running until 6 November requiring temporary traffic lights and there will also be full overnight closures of Ealing Road at the junction with Albany Road for gas main replacement with diversions via Windmill Road and Boston Manor Road.

Until Saturday, 29 November, TfL will be carrying out essential overnight road surveys on the A315 between Alexandra Road and Beech Avenue. Work will take place on weeknights between 10pm and 5am, when traffic is lighter. Temporary traffic lights will be in place, and on some nights, side roads may need to close. Signed diversion routes will be provided, and residents will always have access to their homes.

The Windmill Road junction across the A4 remains shut due to lane closures until 29 November.

Bus routes including the 65, 237, 267, and E8 may experience delays or diversions, particularly around Ealing Road and Brentford High Street. TfL advises checking live updates before travelling.
