The Hare and Hounds pub on Windmill Lane in Osterley is set to reopen its doors on Tuesday 7 April after being closed since 16 March for a refurbishment.

The reopening comes alongside a new menu and what Fuller's is describing as a stylish interior refresh. The pub has been given a makeover intended to make the most of its historic features, though the precise nature of the changes inside will become clearer when customers return on Tuesday.

Fuller's has also submitted a licensing application to Hounslow Council that would add a small outdoor bar on the ground floor, serving alcohol between 11am and 11pm every day. If approved, the addition would allow customers to be served drinks directly in the outside area without needing to go inside, making better use of what is already one of the larger pub gardens in this part of west London. The existing internal layout and all other licensed activities would remain unchanged.

The pub is an Edwardian building dating from 1904, attractively designed with a half-timbered upper floor and original leaded windows and has long served as a gathering point for those living in and around the Osterley and Wyke Green area.

It sits on Windmill Lane sandwiched between the grounds of the local golf club and the attractive parkland of Osterley House, the National Trust property.

The pub has a large beer garden with a capacity of around 300 and a 75-seat restaurant in a more recent extension, while still retaining a traditional pub feel in the original bar area. Fuller's stocks a range of cask-conditioned ales alongside premium continental lagers, bottled craft beers, wines and spirits including whiskeys, gins and rums, and the pub has built a reputation as a food destination as well as a drinking venue.
