Arson not ruled out after roof of semi-detached property destroyed
October 20, 2025 Around 60 firefighters and eight fire engines responded to a house fire on Northumberland Avenue in Isleworth on Sunday evening (19 October), with crews arriving shortly after the first emergency call at 9:43pm. The fire, which severely damaged the roof of a semi-detached property, was brought under control in just over an hour . No injuries have been reported at this stage. Crews from Heston, Chiswick, Feltham, Twickenham, and surrounding stations attended the scene. A 32-metre turntable ladder was deployed to provide incident commanders with an aerial view, enhancing situational awareness and supporting tactical decision-making. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the London Fire Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service, with the involvement of police suggesting that arson has not been ruled out. Turntable ladders are part of the Brigade’s aerial appliance fleet, used for observation, rescue, and firefighting at height.
