Rebecca BennRebecca Benn lives in Brentford Dock and is going to travel to Haiti in March for 6 weeks to carry out voluntary work to help the victims of the earthquake.

It is nearly a year since the earthquake hit Haiti.  At its epicentre in Leogane, 95% of the buildings were destroyed.  All Hands Volunteers is an aid agency that has been in Leogane since the quake and closely involved in shifting the rubble that was once the homes of people who already had precious little to start with.

Rebecca says " I am going to provide direct help with that rubble shifting and the rebuilding process.  It is my way of helping out people who have had so much taken away".

She is fundraising to cover both the costs of her flights and to make a donation directly to the charity organising her work, www.hands.org, hoping to raise a total of £2000.

Her Facebook Fan Page is promoting the Creole Quiz Night on the 26th January (7pm) at the Brentford Dock residents club room with food, a quiz, prizes and the raffle draw.

Tickets are £10 from Rebecca Benn and you can contact her via facebook, on twitter at @TwickersBecca or via email at rebecca_haiti@hotmail.co.uk

Prizes for the raffle include cinema tickets, signed sports memorabilia, DVDs, a Nintendo DS and more!!!
