Following Transport for London's consultations on London's ULEZ, the Ultra Low Emission Zone, TfL have a current consultation on further details.

ULEZ covers the same area as the existing Congestion Charging Zone, will apply 24 hours a day, every day of the year and requires all vehicles that do not meet a NOx emission standard to pay a daily charge to drive within the zone.

TfL are now proposing to introduce the central London ULEZ earlier than planned, on 8th April 2019, to reduce air pollution. The consultation also asks about sunset or grace periods where discounts will apply on ULEZ in order to give time to change cars.

ULEZ currently covers NOx standards and it is proposed to cover Particulate Matter (PM) emissions as well.

You can fill in the online survey (which genuinely only takes 10-15 minutes) and find out much more about what is planned on Phase 2 Consultation.

The consultation closes on 25 June 2017.
