Hounslow’s Leader, Cllr Jagdish Sharma, will be in the hot seat next month when residents have the chance to quiz him on issues that matter to them.

The Leader’s Question Time event is a highlight of Hounslow’s Community Fair on 22 September, the culmination of our summer of celebration, which will showcase everything the borough has to offer.

As well as the council, panellists will include representatives from our partners in the health service and Metropolitan Police, and the session will be chaired by Hounslow’s Chief Executive, Mary Harpley.

Hounslow’s Leader, Cllr Jagdish Sharma, said:

“I’m really looking forward to the Question Time event, and am delighted that colleagues from the health service and police will also be taking part.

“This is the chance for you to ask us about the things that are important to you, and I can give you my commitment to be open and transparent in answering your questions.

“I hope that many of you will come along and take part; you can email your questions to communications@hounslow.gov.uk or fill in question cards on the day so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.”

The format will remain faithful to BBC TV’s Question Time, with questions taken from the audience and the Chair selecting which panel member will go to first for a response.  Residents who attend will have the opportunity to ask their pre-submitted questions in person.

Hounslow Community Fair will take place from 11am to 5pm in Lampton Park, Lampton Road, Hounslow.   As well as the Leader’s Question Time event, there will be fantastic activities for children and young people, plus music, arts and dance and food reflecting our diverse communities.

Residents can also find out more about the contribution of community and voluntary groups and how to volunteer, as well as getting information on how the council and its partners aim to improve the quality of life in the borough.

The council will also be launching a special commemorative booklet featuring photographs from the summer of celebration. All proceeds from the booklet, which costs just 50p, will go to the Alzheimer’s Society Hounslow.
