Local residents and businesses are being invited to question the man in charge of the local police about crime and safety in their area.

The Hounslow Borough Community Police Consultative Group (CPCG) is holding its next meeting on Monday, June 14, where Hounslow’s Borough Commander, David Bilson will be answering questions.

Cllr Ed Mayne, lead member for community safety and enforcement at the council, said:

"It’s important that the police and the council listen to, and work with, local people. This is a great way to ask the most senior local policeman directly about the issues that matter to local residents.

"Whilst this is primarily a police event, I will be there to listen to what local people think, and to see where we can work even more closely with the police to make sure people in Hounslow feel safe."

The meeting will also feature a presentation by the Homicide and Serious Crime Command on "Joint Enterprise" which highlights how easily young people can be caught up in serious crime as well as the reality of facing a long prison sentence even when they did not strike the fatal blow.

The CPCG meeting will take place at the Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow on Monday 14 June at 7pm.
