Come and see some of the finest objects from Thomas Layton's vast collection in a new major exhibition at Gunnersbury Park Museum presented by the Layton Museum and Memorial Trust.

Not since the 1930s have so many objects been displayed together and some have never been on public display before. The objects range from Palaeolithic hand-axes used 300,000 years ago to a Maori stone patoo (war club) from the 19th century, with everything from Roman pottery, medieval jugs, Bronze Age weapons and figurines and items from India, Egypt, Japan, China and Burma in between.

This is a great opportunity to see a slice of Brentford's history as well as learn about one of Brentford's greatest characters.

The exhibition runs from 5 September 2006 to 13 January 2007, opening 11am to 5pm. Free admission. Call 020 8992 1612 for more information.
