Ealing and Hounslow Councils are commissioning a joint study together with Slough Council on the impact of the various options being considered for Heathrow – from four runways to closure.

The councils are inviting bidders to undertake a study into the potential impact of the most likely options for Heathrow ranging from closure, through status quo, to significant expansion.

They say they study’s results will inform the development of any submission they may make to the Davies Commission and give a better understanding of the possible consequences of the various options being proposed .

The study will be carried out in the next few weeks with the results available in October.

Ealing Council say they are opposed to a third runway on the Sipson site (North East option) or to the south of the existing runways, but that they have an open mind in terms of considering possible proposals for additional runways to the west of the existing airport,
