Students from West Thames College’s renowned specialist makeup courses presented their stunning end of year shows this month.

Models take to the catwalk at the HND end of year show ‘The Stage’

The BA Specialist Makeup show ‘Identity Parade’ and the HND show ‘The Stage’ took place on 2 June and saw models styled in the themes of circus, burlesque and ballet costumes. The shows were each a resounding success with the talented students presenting their fantastic creations to a packed audience of friends, family and industry professionals.

Each show was the result of months of preparation and featured body painting, handmade wigs, hairstyling, costume, makeup, prosthetics and special effects. The show was well attended by industry professionals including representatives from Madame Tussauds, MAC, film hairdresser Maureen McGill and freelance makeup artist Mary Hillman.

Recent graduates from the course include Emmy Beech who has since worked on commercials for Heineken, British Airways, John Lewis and car manufacturer, Kia and several television programmes such as The Wright Stuff, The One Show and Something for the Weekend. Others have
worked for the BBC, West End theatre productions, retailers such as Bobbi Brown, film productions and on photo shoots for top magazines.
