A guide to times of heightened flood risk
The table below shows the dates and times at which an unusually high tide is expected on the River Thames at Brentford. Areas of Brentford that may flood during very high tides include Catherine Wheel Road, Brent Way, the quayside promenades at Ferry Quays, the riverside paths alongside the River Brent and the path across Johnsons Island between Thames Lock and the Brewery Tap. This table contains predictions and is meant as a guide only. Some flooding may occur on other dates, tides can peak earlier or later than the predicted times, and actual tide heights will be affected by the weather (recent rainfall, atmospheric pressure and wind strength and direction). Hence no warranty is provided, and we cannot accept any responsibility for accident, damage or injury caused through the use of the tide tables. The times in the table are calculated for the Ferry Quays / Thames Lock area of Brentford. All times are local (GMT or BST according to the season). The tide heights are the predictions for London Bridge. The table below lists only the highest tides of the year, those of 7.2 metres and above at London Bridge. This year, Richard Jennings has obtained the agreement of the Port of London Authority to publish full tide tables for Brentford, showing heights and times of all high and low tides for the year. These, together with other information about tides on the Thames, are available on his website http://tides.rjen.me.uk. Richard Jennings welcomes any queries or comments.
