St Paul's School Re-Opens Monday
Normal Schooling is being resumed
Glenn Greene, Chair of Governors at St Paul's School sent the following update to parents:
"I am pleased to tell you that St Paul’s will re-open this Monday, 16th September, in line with the plan discussed at our meeting in St Paul’s Church.
"It has been a really co-operative effort to achieve this milestone. Steve White and the LDBS have worked very hard to make sure that the temporary classrooms are ready for use while at the same time starting the project to get the school restored and returned to normal working as soon as possible. Mr Wright and the St Paul’s team have pulled out all the stops to ensure that teaching can start on Monday and Hounslow has smoothed the way, wherever needed, to make sure that the process continued unhindered. On behalf of the Governors and all of you I would like to offer our sincere thanks to all of those who have been involved in getting the school ready as well as to all those who offered support and help in so many different ways. It is in times of adversity like this that the community really pulls together and tragedy doesn’t necessarily have to be an obstacle to long term success.
"There may be some odd pieces of equipment that will not be in place for Monday but this will not affect the ability of the teachers to teach your children in accordance with the curriculum. All equipment has been ordered and the final bits should arrive in the early part of next week.
"Mr Wright will be notifying you on Friday of the physical arrangements for bringing your children to, and collecting your children from, school. Please look out for this and follow the instructions. The playground is a very restricted area with all of the temporary classrooms and the need to section off areas so that the contractors can work without any risk to the children.
"Thank you once again to all involved and to you, the parents/carers, who have been so patient and supportive while everything was sorted out. As we continue to restore the school we will also be turning our attention to school expansion and we urge you to complete and return the consultation feedback forms to the London Borough of Hounslow. Copies can be obtained from the school office."
