The Bull, 90inch, Boulton & Watt and Maudslay beam engines will run and the focus of this weekend will be on the working life of the Victorian pumping station with specialised talks and behind the scenes tours of the original workshops.
Visit the multi award-winning Kew Bridge Steam Museum and experience steam power coming alive or take a ride on London's only steam railway, in operation for most of the year. Marvel at the world's largest collection of steam pumping engines, in action every weekend or the special Giants of Steam weekends.
The museum has recently introduced a multi-visit ticket, a one-off payment gives users free entry for a whole year, and it’s also free admission for children opening up a world of adventure, as they become a human donkey operating the horse gin, pump water in the new Splash Zone, or take part in a variety of specially planned activities over Family Fun weeks.
Built in the 19th century to supply London with water, the museum is recognised as the most important historic site of the water supply industry in Britain. Whatever your age or interest, there is a full, fun packed schedule of events and exhibitions for 2009.

Railway: The railway is set to go full steam ahead again from 5 April 2009. Visitors can enjoy a ride behind the museum’s resident steam locomotive, a narrow gauge steam railway, which offers free rides around the museum grounds each Sunday, until 25 October and also during selected special events.

How to find us:
Buses: 65, 237, 267, 391. All buses stop at Kew Bridge.
Main Line Rail: Kew Bridge (South West Trains from Waterloo via Clapham Junction).
Tube: Gunnersbury (District Line then 237 or 267 bus) or Kew Gardens (District Line then 391 bus)
Directions: From the south of Kew Bridge, go over the bridge, then immediately turn left towards Brentford. The Museum is about 100 yards along on the right hand side, on the corner of Green Dragon Lane and Kew Bridge Road. The museum entrance is in Green Dragon Lane.
From the M4 motorway, leave the motorway at Junction 2 and follow the A4 to Chiswick roundabout. Take the turning towards Richmond, Kew Bridge and Brentford (also signed for Kew Gardens). Go straight ahead at the next set of traffic lights, then move into the right hand lane to go straight ahead at the next set of lights, following signs to Brentford. Admission Prices:Annual multi-visit ticket, Adults £9.50 Concessions: £8.50 - Tickets are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. *Children aged 15 and under are admitted to the museum for FREE, but must be accompanied by a paying adult. Proof of age may be required. Please note different rates may apply at some special events and activities. The museum is closed December 22-29 inclusive.
