In an emergency ALWAYS dial 999
For all NON emergency calls use 101
If you have no mobile signal, 999 will NOT work but 112 will put you straight through to the emergency services.

If you have a CCTV setup please can you get in contact with Ahmend Mo Kassem, Deputy Community Coordinator via email at simplymouk@gmail.com, with your address.

There is now a map on OWL that is only accessible to the police and the two senior coordinators showing CCTV locations.

By doing this you will be helping the police identify which properties have CCTV making them more efficient in policing your area.

Report crime online

A resident wrote to OWGRA exemplifying the benefits of reporting all crime and suspicious behaviour:

“You may recall I told you about some thefts from outhouses and cars in the Osterley area about last October. Because of residents reporting, one of the culprits was identified and through DNA, caught and is currently awaiting sentence under lock and key.  I mentioned that at the time of the break-in, there were two culprits and only one was caught.  However, about 3-4 weeks ago I had another outhouse theft and the culprit had drunk 2 cans of beer/cider and left the cans in my garden.  I called the police and they came within the hour and took DNA from the cans.  It takes about 2 weeks for the samples to be tested and they had a direct match from an already known offender. From the way the break-in was conducted, we are sure he is the "other" person from the October break-in.  He was arrested and is awaiting trial at the Crown Court; I understand that he was already on a suspended sentence from other offences and bail was refused".

Reporting crime online even after minor offences helps the police put information together. So please don’t assume that police won’t follow up on your reports – they do and it is essential that we all report all crimes to the police.
