Floreat Brentford Primary School is currently in temporary accommodation at Trico House.

It is proposed that the permanent site for the school should be on Layton Road car park.

On Wednesday, Cllr Steve Curran made a Cabinet Member Single Member Decision to proceed with allocating Layton Road car park for a permanent Free School.

There are two options for development.

The favoured proposal, Option A, is for the Free School to be built on the adjoining two sites controlled by Hodson Developments and the car park to have residential

Option B is a fallback position if the preferred option doesn't happen which will be for the school and residential development to proceed separately.

A planning application is expected in July 2016 with a decision at Planning committee in November.

As the site is currently in industrial use, a change of use will have to be made for either residential or education.
